Duplicating datasets
Duplicating datasets can be helpful for a number of reasons, for example:
If you want to make updates to an imported dataset. You may have found errors/ issues in the data, or need to update a dataset, but also want to maintain the original dataset or analysis you already have run. Note that if you have a dataset you want to make edits to, you are only able to make such edits if no analysis has been run on the dataset. The two options are therefore to either delete the analysis or create a duplicate dataset.
If you want to create new datasets with subsets of the data. You may have imported one central/ global dataset, but want to split it into smaller segments (e.g. by country or business unit) for specific teams to continue working on their own datasets.
Some things to be aware of when creating new datasets in the system:
If a dataset is assigned a label to restrict access, any duplicated dataset will inherit the same label. The label can be modified on the duplicated dataset later, if needed.
If you've added comments into your dataset, the comments will be copied across too. But only if you have checked the option of making the comment Visible on all datasets.
If you've added comments into your dataset, the comments will they be copied over as well. But only if you select the option to make the comment Visible on all datasets.
Generating a new dataset (Full Copy)
If you've uploaded a dataset and need to create an exact copy, perhaps to update some data points, proceed as follows:
In the Employee Overview tab, click on Dataset Configuration, as presented on the following illustration.
Dataset configuration button
This will take you back to the configuration page where the dataset was initially set up.
Click on the Duplicate Dataset button. This will generate a new dataset identical to the original, with all dataset configurations pre-filled, as illustrated in the following picture:
Duplicate Dataset button
Simply click Save to create your new dataset.
Generating a new dataset with a subset of data points
If you want to create a new dataset using only a subset of data points from an existing dataset, proceed as follows:
Open the dataset you’ve uploaded and navigate to the Employee Table.
Use the filter feature on any column to select the data points you want to include in the new dataset.
Once you’ve applied the filter, click the icon above the table as illustrated on the following picture: the original dataset.

You’ll be redirected to the dataset configuration page, where the settings will be pre-filled based on
You can modify the configuration if needed (e.g., changing the dataset name) or click Save directly to create the new dataset with the selected subset of data points.
After creating the new dataset, you can return to the Dataset Overview to view it in the list of datasets.
