Comparison
In the process of running the analysis, you may want to compare :
Two compensation models: identifies differences in pay structure, variables, or results.
Two analyses over time: monitors how pay gaps evolve, and assesses changes in how variables are influencing the R² value.
This comparison may be useful for example, to monitor how the pay gaps are changing over time, and if there are changes in how the variables are impacting the R2 value over time. This feature will help you gain deeper insights and understand key differences between models or track changes over time. By performing these comparisons, you can also track the effectiveness of your pay strategies and ensure that your compensation practices align with your goals.
Opening an analysis and entering the comparison feature in PayAnalytics makes it easy to compare different analyses, e.g. to see how your adjusted pay gap is developing over time. To use this feature you need to select which analysis you want to compare. If the configuration of the two analyses differs, you will get a warning message and detailed information to understand how these differences may affect your comparison.
Key Comparisons
In the upper right corner, you can select the analysis variable. By default, the total salary variable is selected in the data upload settings, but it can be changed here for any continuous variable. Changes in the total, average, and median of this variable are shown overall and for each gender. The system also shows the change in the number of employees of each gender and total change.
If you have run the analysis with two demographic variables, radio buttons will appear to allow you to select which demographic variable you are comparing.
Analysis results
You will see a comparison of the adjusted and unadjusted pay gaps, both as a whole and within specific groups. The generated chart will show the relative pay gap in each job role, once the other factors included in the compensation model are accounted for. Again, any variable can be chosen to be used as the grouping variable, but by default the main grouping variable is chosen in the data settings page.
